I first met Mary Beth, my husband’s cousin, almost 11 years ago at our wedding. By met, I mean got to say “hello” and “thank you for coming to our wedding.” Most everyone we spoke to at the reception asked where we were going on our honeymoon and wanted to take a peek at my wedding ring. So we probably briefly talked about Jamacia, excitedly showed my ring, and then, because I’m a hugger, gave her and her family a quick squeeze before heading to the next table.
It wasn’t until a couple years later when Brian and I, and our new baby girl, visited Greensburg that I had the opportunity to get to know her. We stayed the weekend with Brian’s grandma, and Mary Beth, her mom, and sister were there to make sure the weekend was filled with fun! The laughter and shopping that ensued that weekend are still some of my fondest memories.
If you’ve met her, you know that Mary Beth’s smile can light up a room. Her joy is contagious, and you are guaranteed a great time when you are in her company. Her smile and joy only multiplied when she met Mike, and after meeting him, we knew that we would love him just as much!
Last weekend we were in town for the Pittsburgh Triathlon and Mike and Mary Beth were right there to scoop us up and show us a fantastic time. So glad that in between all of the fun and delicious food, we squeezed in a little trip to Frick Park to document their anniversary.
Mike and Mary Beth, we were so blessed to attend your beautiful wedding two years ago. Your love for one another and kindness you show to all is so beautiful. I know so many say that you can choose your friends, but you cannot choose your family, but, Mike and Mary Beth, we’d choose you over and over again.
Happy Anniversary!
